Look at this darling video, I just can't believe how cute this is!!
10-05-09 Storm!
Charlie liked it:
Parke and I recently finished working on the 7th Annual Spay-ghetti and No Balls Dinner!
It was held September 25th at Chadz, from 5-8 pm.
This event is a fundraiser for the Livingston Fixer Upper free spay neuter clinics,
that help folks in Park County who can not afford to get their pets fixed.
This year, to honor ALL animals, (not just our beloved cats and dogs)
the dinner was 100% vegetarian, (no flesh, fish, eggs, or dairy)
with sauces from Pinky's and Adagio, bread from On the Rise Bakery, and brownies from Chico Hot Springs!
This year we will also served Field Roast Artisan Italian Sausage - and gave free samples
from a table on Main Street, to share our message that a compassionate diet is not only healthy - it is delicious!!
Thanks to Lynn Weaver of Sparkling Dawg Designs, for this awesome poster!
On Septermber 2nd, there was an article in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that so upset Parke, that he asked me to laminate it and post it in our window. Here is a link to that article: Egg Hatchery Investigation.
Most people have no idea how amazingly cruel the egg industry is.... but thanks to Mercy for Animals,
more people can make more informed food choices today, and truly live their values of compassion.
Marketing terms like 'free range', 'humane', and 'organic' are very popular right now. Don't fall for it.
"The movement toward 'humanely raised food animals' assuages our guilt
more than it actually reduces animal suffering.
When we tell ourselves we’re eating meat from “humanely raised animals,”
we’re leaving out a huge part of the equation.
The slaughtering of an animal is a bloody and violent act:
Death does not come easy for those who want to live." - Colleen Patrick Goudreau
And as anyone who has ever been to our gallery knows, every December we foster for the Stafford Animal Shelter.
This year, adoptions were down. What I'm saying is, Meet Our New Kids! Bob, Charlie, and Sly!
DANCE PARTY!
Oops! I did it Again!
Happy Earth Day!
Do you REALLYwant to be Green? It’s easier than you thought!
DID YOU KNOW... The meat industry is the most ecologically destructive industry on earth.
The raising, shipping, and slaughtering of animals damages vast areas of land, pollutes huge quantities of water, and is a greater contributor to greenhouse gas emissions than the automobile industry!
In the US: 90% of all soy crops, 80% of all corn, 70% of all grains, 80 % of all agricultural land, 50% of all water resources, and 35% of all fossil fuels are used to raise animals for food.
World Wide
Livestock and Meat Production cause: 55% of all land erosion, 33% of all water pollution,
uses 37 % of all pesticides,
and 50% of all antibiotics.
It takes 16 pounds of grain and 5000 gallons of water to produce only ONE POUND of meat.
You can actually save more water by not eating ONE pound of beef than you would by not showering for an entire year!
Whether the animals are raised conventionally, or are labeled
“Natural”, “Organic”, “Free Range”, “Grass Fed”, or “Cage Free”, The Process of turning Living Animals into isolated Body Parts and chunks of flesh
is the most destructive industry on earth.
One Person CAN make a difference! Every year, a vegan saves 94 lives, 1 acre of trees, and 320,000 gallons of water.
Peace Begins onYOURPlate.
TRUE Environmentalists Go Vegan!
For your Health, the Planet, and the Polar Bears, All you have to do is Eat your Veggies!
“Factory farms have polluted thousands of miles of America’s rivers, killed billions of fish,
pushed thousands of farmers off their land, sickened thousands of Americans, and treated
millions of farm animals with unspeakable cruelty.” - Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Sad News: We are devastated to announce the loss of our beloved Toots this March.
Many of you will remember Toots, who galloped to the door to greet every visitor,
who enthusiastically assisted all shoppers, and gave hugs to those who would allow it.
The gallery will never be the same.
We adopted Toots six years ago from the Stafford Animal Shelter. At the time, her estimated age was 16.
How can time go by so fast?
Don't worry, you will still be adored by a kitty when you visit our studio - Sly and Poppy are sure to say "Hello"
and if you are real lucky, Elvie might even acknowledge your presence.
But no one's ever gonna hug you like Toots did.
Seriously, Charlie. Is that comfortable??
This is the best gift you could ever give to yourself and your loved ones.... and it's free for the clicking! The Peaceable Kingdom
Pass it On.
I found some old photos of our house recently. For your amusement, here is our place BEFORE: This photo was taken in June of 1998! AFTER:
This photo was taken in September of 2008.
Ride your bike softly, and carry a cloth bag!
It takes over 20 pounds of corn to make 1 gallon of ethanol. Hmmm. that's interesting.
It takes 20 pounds of switchgrass to make one gallon of ethanol.
It takes over 40 pounds of soybeans (or 7.6 pounds of soybean oil) to make 1 gallon of soydiesel.
And the gas it takes to make 10 plastic grocery bags could drive an SUV a mile... For more information on REALLY being Green, visit EcoElvis!

and adopting from your local shelter or online rescue group INSTEAD of supporting a breeder
are the most important things you can do to help all cats and dogs.
