Mercury sleeps under the covers and drinks from

the loudest purr ever!

This is Mike, the cat Jim Durfey meant to kill when he murdered Bernie. Mike's idiot owner left the neighborhood, leaving Mike and his sister behind. We found Mike starving and feral 2 months later,

in our garden. We trapped him and kept him in a cage in our livingroom for 2 weeks, until he learned to be a loved house cat. Mike's sister starved to death - forgotten and locked inside the abandoned house. Don't you just hate humans?

Random. My Love! This is Elvie's brother. He came
to us a feral kitten-what a joy to see him tame and happy 7 years
later!
I am madly in love with this cat.

She is truly a perfect dog.

Desmond used to be my bird until he met Parke and fell in love. Not that
there's anything wrong with that. But now I'm just the food lady. |

I am heartbroken to report that we lost our "Little
Bit" on August 23rd, 2005 to an insidious virus called FIP,
for which there is no test, no vaccination, and no cure. It only
kills young cats.
We were honored to live with Little Bit for 10
months. She was a sparkling conversationalist and our constant
companion in the garden.
She was adored.

Andre the giant loves all humans & dogs. Our
snuggle bug, we spend a great deal of time butting foreheads with
this guy, which I understand is a big compliment in cat body language.
Our sweet Andre's back end was suddenly paralyzed
by a blood clot in December of 2005. When he did not respond to
treatment, we let him go a few days later.

I don't know if we will ever recover from the
loss of our sweet Bernie.
Bernie was murdered by our horrible neighbor,
Jim Durfey.
After searching desperately for Bernie, I had
a terrible feeling in my heart that led me to check the Durfey's
trash can. I found Bernie's bloody beaten body hidden in the bottom of a huge
bag of their garbage.

The Remodel |
A couple
of years ago, we decided to put insulation in the attic. Then we
realized the rafters should be replaced. Then we realized the walls
also needed to be replaced... Our insulation project turned into
a big dang remodel! Parke did 95% of the work himself, while I kept
the gallery open. |

First he took part of the roof
off. |
|
Then he took the whole top of the house off! Guess
what happens when you take your roof off -
it rains!
|
|
|
|
One day I came home to find
that Parke had removed a side of the house. |
|
New walls ahoy! |

OK, the upstairs is almost done, so now we better
work on the downstairs.
Please buy a painting so we can finish!

The Montana
Spay/Neuter Task Force |
You might
have noticed that we love animals! One of our favorite causes is
the Montana
Spay/Neuter Task Force, an organization that
teaches the importance of fixing animals by putting on community-run
clinics for people who can not afford to fix their pets.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Here to see one shelter's powerful film on why
spaying and neutering your pets is the most important thing you
can do to help all animals.
I helped with a three day Task Force
event in Livingston in September of 2003. We called it "The Fixer
Upper". Almost six hundred cats and dogs were fixed, and 300
local volunteers helped. We also put on the "Spay-ghetti
and No Balls Dinner" to raise money for the Task
Force and our local animal shelter. My parents and sisters came
from out of town to help me with this great project. Here are some
photos.... |

Over six million healthy, adoptable
dogs and cats are killed in American shelters each year because
there are not enough homes for them all. You can help prevent this tragedy by adopting pets at your
local shelter instead of buying from a breeder or pet shop,
and by having your pets fixed!
About This Web Site
I made this site on the Page Mill program
that came with our iMac, and then gave it to Hillary Johnson, Web

She made it beautiful, and she hooked it up! Hillary is now semi-retired from web sites. You can contact her at starwebservices.com.
